Smart Contracts in Blockchain Technology: A Critical Review

By utilizing smart contracts, which are essentially scripts that anchored in a decentralized manner on blockchains or other similar infrastructures, it is possible to make the execution of predetermined procedures visible outside world. The programmability previously unrealized assets, such as money, and automation manual business logic both made by contracts. This revelation inspired us analyze contracts blockchain technologies written English between 2012 2022. scope research limited journal. Reviews, conferences, book chapters, theses, monographs, interview-based works, also articles press, eliminated. review comprises 252 over last ten years with “Blockchain”, “block-chain”, “smart contracts”, contracts” keywords. paper discusses contracts’ present status significance technology. gaps challenges relevant literature have been discussed, particularly emphasizing limitations. Based these findings, several problems prospective routes for future study will likely be valuable academics professionals identified.
